When I sat down with BRiAN O’Connor for this exclusive Wireless Dealer Magazine interview, I wanted to understand how one creative ringtone idea grew into a chart-topping business and what he intends to build next. BRiAN O’Connor, Founder and CEO of NewHotMusic.com, an official division of the Billboard-charting entertainment company PGE, is known professionally throughout the music industry as BRiAN BiLLiONAiRE. As he shared the company’s story with me, it became clear that he did not enter the ringtone market simply to follow a trend. He saw an opportunity to make mobile phones more personal, useful, and entertaining.
Instead of offering only shortened portions of popular songs, BRiAN created Phone Alert Ringtones that tell users who is calling by name, relationship, or profession before they ever look at the screen. More than 15 of his ringtones reached No. 1 on Apple’s iTunes ringtone charts, and several held leading positions for years. BRiAN told me that this long-running chart performance validated both the originality of the idea and the continuing demand for a product that combines convenience with entertainment.
What impressed me most was not simply that NewHotMusic.com reached No. 1, but that its products continued selling after many other digital trends had disappeared. Sustaining that kind of success requires more than a clever launch. It reflects BRiAN’s ability to recognize what customers enjoy, develop it into an easy-to-understand product, and keep the experience relevant as mobile habits change.
During our conversation, BRiAN made it clear that he does not view those achievements as a finished chapter. He is carrying forward an extensive catalog of more than 500 custom ringtones while strengthening the technology, talent, and creative resources behind NewHotMusic.com. He described this moment as an opportunity to introduce the company to a broader mobile audience, expand beyond the platforms that first established its name, and build new entertainment experiences around the same combination of usefulness and personality that made Phone Alert Ringtones successful.
“I wanted to create something different - something useful.”

I asked BRiAN why Phone Alert Ringtones have continued attracting customers for so many years. His answer returned to the uncomplicated strength of the original concept. “They solve a simple but real problem, and they are fun,” he told me. “Most people stop whatever they are doing when their phone rings because they need to find the phone and look at the screen. Our Phone Alert Ringtones removed that extra step. Whether the caller is Mom, a friend, a doctor, a customer, or a business contact, users immediately hear who is calling before they ever look at their phones.”
As BRiAN walked me through the product, I could understand why customers have continued responding to it. An ordinary incoming call immediately becomes more personal, while the ringtone provides information the listener recognizes without needing to check the device. That balance of usefulness and entertainment gives the product staying power. BRiAN did not create only a novelty; he developed a practical mobile feature that continues delivering convenience, personalization, and enjoyment years after its introduction.
The concept also fits naturally into the way people organize their lives. A customer can assign different alerts to family members, friends, doctors, business contacts, or other important callers and recognize the category of the call from across the room. BRiAN told me that this immediate recognition is a major reason the product has lasted: it does something understandable, it saves a small but repeated step, and it gives each phone a little more personality.
To me, the continuing demand says something important about BRiAN’s instincts as a product creator. Digital entertainment changes quickly, but products with a clear purpose can remain relevant. Phone Alert Ringtones have stayed recognizable because the experience is immediate: the phone rings - the customer hears who is calling, and the value of the product becomes obvious in that moment.
