As the world’s global population connects to the internet and Internet speeds grow faster in lockstep, this will spur massive production levels of all kinds of smart-phone electronics parts and smart- phone part harvesting production lines.

As a result, this will drag down the end costs of these components thanks to traditional economies of scale. The disruptive aspect of this trend is that it will also bring the costs down for a variety of other consumer wireless electronics, not just phones.

Disruptive smart-phone competition

Samsung and Apple are the current global leaders in smart-phone sales. Successful inroads into the US smart-phone market are being made by many phone manufacturers.

Meanwhile, many phone brands appealing to the more affordable smart-phone market are successfully making thier way into the masses.

These new competitors are predicted to push heavily into Western markets beginning in 2020, initially serving price conscious consumers.
